Winter trip to Alaska
MULTIVISION LECTURE
A motorcycle trip of extremes from +25°C to -52°C
To Alaska in winter – that is a journey of extremes. Anyone who thinks this is only for tough guys will be surprised. I was the first woman to tackle the famous Dalton Highway in Alaska, one of the toughest roads in the world, on a motorcycle in winter. Together with the Dutchman Sjaak Lucassen, I started at the beginning of January with a BMW F800GS prepared by Touratech at the southernmost point of the continental USA on Key West, Florida. After seven weeks and 12,000 kilometers, we reached the small town of Deadhorse on Prudhoe Bay in Alaska, the northernmost place in the USA that can be reached on public roads – in ice and snow at the coldest time of the year.

Typical woman: boundless curiosity always drives me out from behind my desk and into the world on my motorcycle.
In my talk, I talk about this extreme adventure – Alaska in winter. In addition to encounters with the country and its people and visits to motorcycling legends such as Dave Barr, Ted Simon and Helge Pedersen, these exciting stories focus on the dangers of icy slopes and snowstorms as well as
motorcycling in temperatures as low as -52 degrees.
I will be happy to answer any further questions after the talk.
