40,000 kilometers alone on a motorcycle through Russia, Korea, Japan and back
An invitation to a coffee tempted me to take this trip halfway around the world. I rode my enduro across Russia all the way to Vladivostok. In Maloyaroslavitsa, Russia’s largest motorcycle meeting is taking place for the tenth time and I even make new friends in Volgagrad, the former Stalingrad. The ride through Siberia is meditative, but never boring!
As a motorized luggage-carrying system, the BMW enters South Korea illegally, where foreigners are not allowed to ride their own motorcycles. I spend the first night in a Buddhist temple. Afterwards, I visit the South Korean peninsula with the capital Seoul and then ride to North Korea as the first non-Korean motorcyclist.
Hiroshima and Kyoto, Tokyo and Kamakurra as well as Mount Fuji-San are stops on my journey through Japan. Then a ferry takes me back to Russia.
The road home is a journey through the seasons. After the riot of color of the autumnal birch forests, the harbingers of winter turn the journey over the Ural Mountains into a dangerous slide until I return to Germany in the golden autumn after five months and 40,000 kilometers.

The most exciting part, however, is the encounters with the people of these foreign and fascinating cultures.
